Doodle 4 Google is a yearly competition in which students in the United States are invited to submit their own designs for the Google homepage logo, also known as a “doodle.” The theme of the competition changes every year, and a panel of judges selects a winning design. The winning design is then featured on the Google homepage for a day. The competition is open to students in grades K-12, and the winner receives a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology grant for their school. The competition was created in 2008 and has been held every year since.
